Do you have a young creative at home with a passion for storytelling or art? Or, are they keen on video editing and FX? Our Young Filmmakers Camp is the perfect place for them to explore their interests, make new friends, and develop valuable skills while having a lot of fun!
Our classes have a 5:1 student-instructor ratio so that every student gets the attention they need to flourish.
Taking place at Rickmansworth School — easily accessible from Croxley Green Underground station — the location is ideal for students living in Amersham, Little Chalfont, Chorleywood, Watford, North-West London or along the Chiltern Railways line to Aylesbury or Metropolitain Underground line.

Description
At this week-long camp, students will dive into the exciting world of filmmaking through a collaborative process that fosters teamwork and leadership. As they work together on an assortment of exciting film challenges, even quieter students will have the opportunity to come out of their shells, building confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Alongside developing these key interpersonal skills, students will gain hands-on experience using professional film and photography equipment, learning solid technical skills that will set them up for future creative endeavors.
Participants will be encouraged to work both collaboratively in groups and independently, challenging and responding to ideas while honing their skills in a fun and creative environment.
What you'll learn:
- Lighting: Learn how to light your scene to show your location and your actors at their best.
- Camera Operation: Understand the impact that your camera settings have on the image and learn how to operate in manual mode.
- Audio Recording: Experiment with capturing the highest quality audio for your film.
- Scripting and Storytelling: Have fun creating compelling stories and learning how to best communicate your message.
- Set Design: How to decorate your set to make your creatives more professional.
- Video Editing: Learn how to edit your scenes using industry-standard video and audio software.
- Online safety: Learn important guidelines for content creators so that you can publish your work, without putting yourself at risk.
This immersive course promises to be a fast, fun, and educational experience that will equip students with valuable skills in digital video creation.

This course is suitable for students between the ages of 11-16 and is open to all skill levels.
Dr Roland Kay
Roland is a Director of Photography and Steadicam operator who has worked in both theatre and film. His recent projects include a horror short film and a story that addresses the mental health challenges associated with Covid lockdowns. Currently, he is working as a Steadicam operator on an experimental dance film that explores significant moments in a woman's life.
Sintija Linuza
Sintija, an accomplished short-form content producer, has had her films recognized at several festivals, including Cannes Shorts, with one of her works featured on the Creative Pool website. Her film also received the Shiny Award for Best Short Film, a testament to her storytelling abilities. In addition to her filmmaking, Sintija has managed digital campaigns and promotional websites for high-profile clients such as Netflix Queue Magazine and Warner Bros.

Getting there
The school is a 20 minute walk from Rickmansworth Underground station and a 12 minute walk from Croxley Underground station, both of which are on the Metropolitain line. Chiltern Railways also stops at Rickmansworth Station, or you can take the Chiltern Railways train to Harrow-on-the-Hill and change to a Metropolitain line service to Watford, if you prefer to walk from Croxley Underground Station.
