Privacy & data protection policy

Here at Amersham Film School we take your privacy very seriously. We only contact you with information we think may be of interest to you and will not share your data with external parties (except where we have a contract for those parties to process data on our behalf, such as our sever and database hosts, or where there is a lawful basis for doing so; please see section 3 of our Data Protection Policy).

Below you will find a summary of what personal data of yours we store, why we collect it and how we use it. Further detail can be found in our Data Protection Policy and Data Retention & Disposal Policy

How do we collect your data?

We collect your data when you use our website to make a donation or register to receive our newsletter. We will collect your data when you book onto a short course with us, whether this is in person at the office, over the phone, or on our website.

What data is being collected?

If you book a course with us, the data we collect will include personal information that is necessary for the administration of the course.

If you register to receive our newsletter we will collect only your name and email address.

How do we use your data?

Collecting data such as postal addresses, DOB and gender from our course students helps us better understand who our course students are and how they interact with us. This will help us enhance or modify our services and communications with you and others. If you study a course with us we will hold your information for 3 years (after you have completed your course). This length of time allows us to see changing trends in our customer base.

If you register to receive our newsletter you will receive regular newsletter detailing new courses coming up, exciting news and offers that may be of interest to you. If you no longer want to receive our newsletter you can unsubscribe and we will remove your data from our newsletter database.
